Artful Thursday Project #3

Oh, Valentine's Day - It hasn't always held the appeal for me that other holidays have. Halloween being my fave! But for some reason, this year, I am so in love with love.

I keep buying red, pink and white vintage trims (like these goodies from Pautluck), I just can't get enough of it!

For my Thursday project, I decided to use some crocheted pieces I made from lovely vintage string I found at a church rummage sale, and white cotton string from a local thrift store.

Originally, I was going to make a garland with crocheted little circles and a long crocheted chain for our Christmas tree. But of course that was one project I didn't finish. The pieces have been patiently waiting for me in my sewing box!

So why not a Valentine Garland!

It is basically a bunch of round circles on a crocheted chain, then I ran a lovely pink embroidery thread throughout with small beads. Some vintage pink seam binding bows added a sweet touch.

Making the rounds and putting this together was fun because it didn't matter what they looked like - the more random the better. My hubby, Mr. Lumberjackman, and I will be out of town on February 14th - I will be hanging this garland in our suite to celebrate the day!

  1. I love this!! It's a little non-traditional, yet still very romantic! And you crocheted using the twine, how fun! Hope you and your Hubby have a nice, romantic weekend!

  7. I'm still looking over valentine projects & I love this garland!
I especially like the thrifted threads - sometimes those are my favorites because they present a challenge on what to use them for!
