It's the Small Stuff

Recently I realized that it is the small stuff that means so much. My husband and I spend a lot of time on our porch. Sitting there chatting about things (big and small). It gives me a sense of peace and I feel connected - listening to birds in the background and looking across at our neighbors lovely garden all fill me with a sense that I am in the right place, doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing.

Serenity is a journey, not a destination, and I do my best to let go and show up in the moment. Of course - that lasts for about a minute and then I am back in my head thinking about the house, the job, the Esty site, the blog, the daughters, the bills - you get my dirft. But loving kindness is not just how I treat others, it needs to be how I treat myself also.

So, deep breath taken. . .

Focus on something outside myself, and begin the practice again. That's why they call it practice, right!

  4. Well, Elise . . . Thank you. You stopped by my blog, and made my day! I am so insanely busy the rest of this week that I can't take the time to do more than a cursory snoop, but next week, I'll fix that! I'm gonna take a minute for me {I hope}. :) I think I like you! We might just be kindreds.
